ABOUT ABOUT

ABOUT: Learn the basic techniques used by Robert Kraiza for his watercolor paintings. He will guide you through his materials setup and the use of masking fluid to paint a human and animal subject with the use of washes and final details and achieve different effects like foliage and hair. Work along with or observe the basic steps Robert uses.

This workshop is intermediate/advanced. Art experience is recommended.

This is the fifth event in the South Jersey Creatives series, an event series by Nicola Black Design, LLC. Big thank you to our venue sponsor, Kings Hall.

There is an attendee minimum to be reached to put on this workshop. Status of workshop will be updated 2/25 if that minimum has not been reached. Please check our Facebook page for updated info.

INSTRUCTOR: Robert Kraiza

MATERIALS LIST:
Watercolor paper, masking fluid, and paper towels will be provided (although you are welcome to bring your own if you have a preference). You are invited to participate hands on style, but are also welcome to come and observe, take notes, and learn as well. 2. Black watercolor paint tube. Robert uses and suggests Old Holland Scheveningen Intense Black.
3. 3-4 small watercolor brushes. Definitely a size 2 and 4. If wanted a 3/0, an 8, and a larger brush optional.
4. A large clean water jar.
5. Standard Speedball dip pen, and optionally a Yasutomo bamboo sketch pen or small brush size 2 or smaller that can be thrown away.
6. Something to draw on paper with, a 4H pencil or very light gray watercolor pencil.
